Ten Ten Hunan Bistro: A Unique Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Creating a High-End Dining Experience with a Retro Yet Modern Style

To eliminate the original space's irregular layout, the designer created a bar that conforms to the space conditions, giving customers a transparent feeling. Efforts were made to lighten the space, using hollowed-out cabinets and staggered grilles to create a sense of transparency and extension. Star-like materials were used to embellish the layered ceilings, creating an effect that extends the height of the space. The combination of rustic woodwork and a relaxing bar atmosphere creates a unique ambiance, providing each customer with a different dining experience.

The core of this space is calm and stable, combining contemporary avant-garde and rural rustic elements. The most special material used is the AR21 paint, which gives iron parts a wood-like texture after being coated with it through a special process.

The ceiling is paved with iron elements and layered wood panels, creating a calm and low-key atmosphere reminiscent of a starry sky. The bar section features arrow designs to create a sense of orientation, leaving a lasting impression on customers. The large steel frame structure of the original base is decorated with laminates and green plants, harmonizing the entire space and creating a dining area that can accommodate 120 people.

Ten Ten Hunan Bistro is a true fusion of tradition and modernity. The designer carefully considered the privacy of customers sitting by the window, evaluating the angle of elevation and defining the dimensions of the seating areas precisely. The use of wood, iron, and bar elements creates a composite space that embodies the essence of Hunan cuisine culture while showcasing innovation.

This project was completed in August 2018 in Taiwan, overcoming various challenges such as structural constraints and visual intersection effects. The result is a smooth traffic flow and efficient use of space.

Ten Ten Hunan Bistro was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2022 for its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach. This award recognizes the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
